SPACIOUS RESORT
      The 20 cottages are distributed along 3500 ft of Rice Lake shoreline in a variety of sizes and situations. You are NOT crowded together. Most have fireplaces, all have out door fire pits, firewood supplied. The units are all fully equipped housekeeping units with modern kitchens.
     All cottages are finished and furnished to modern standards. They have large spacious decks with patio furniture, double burner gas BBQ, picnic tables, fire pits, firewood, dockside lockers, assigned docking space.



     EXTRAS: IF you require it , we provide for a fee: Laundromat on site, Maid Service, Babysitting, Convenience Shoppe with gifts, apparel, groceries, confectionaries, bait/tackle, fishing licences are available near by.
     INCLUDED: A free boat and motor package with weekly rentals, including a 15ft boat and 15 hp electric start motor with safety kill switch, 4 adult life jackets,(children and infint life jackets are not provided) anchor, bailer, and oars.You have the option of bringing your own boat or upgrading your boat, for an additional fee. Extra marina and boat needs can be purchased as well at our full service marina.
THE FACILITIES & ACTIVITIES
     ON-SITE:Supervised Kid's Program During high seasson. ---games, activities, competitions, events
     Plenty of recreational facilities on our spacious 35 acres --- 'Kids' Playground', sports field, volleyball court, birdwatching, giant chess & checkers board, basketball key, croquet court, tetherball, and horseshoe pits. Indoors -- lending library, rec hall with video game, pinball and giant TV.
     Fun on or near the water paddle boats, canoes, kayaks, sandy beach, pool. During high season scheduled tubeing.



     Anglers' conveniences the legendary plentiful supply of sports fish in Rice Lake is supported by our state-of-the-art fish cleaning hut. And of course you can use the boat, motor and dockside fish lockers, that come free with every cottage.
     OFF-SITE :Nature nature trails, golf, horseback riding, boat cruises,
     Area Activities & Attractions: summer theatre, shopping, Serpent Mounds Park (across from us), Lang Pioneer Village & Hope Mill, (nearby), Warsaw Caves, Peterborough Liftlock, and more.



WE ARE LOCATED?
Highland View Resort is located on the north shore of Rice Lake, at about the half way point. It is west of Serpent Mounds, and Keene. The nearest large city is Peterborough Ontario. Coming from Toronto take hwy 401 to Port Hope exit 464. North on #28 to Bailieboro. Turn east on county road #2 for 22 km to McGregor Bay Road, and turn right, south to Rice Lake. Coming from Ottawa take #7 east to #28/34. Turn left, south 9 km to Keene. Turn right, west on county road #2, one km to McGregor Bay Road. Turn left, south to Rice Lake. GENERAL COTTAGE-USE RULES
1.Everyone counts in the total. Children under 3 years are charged at half the person charge. 2.Additional persons per cottage beyond the prescribed number, if allowable, are $175 extra per week or $30 per day.
3.Inquire about additional persons options at time of booking.
4.We thank you in advance for not smoking in our cottages.
5.Sorry we cannot accomodate pets ; but we can recomend a local kennel.

Nestled on the banks of McGregor Bay on Beautiful Rice Lake just 90 minutes from Toronto, just 15 minutes from Peterborough, Highland View Resort is located in the heart of the Kawarth vacation area and its plentiful attraction - Liftlock, Boat Cruises, Serpent Mounds Park, Warsaw Caves, Lang Pioneer Village, Summer Theatre, Golf courses, Horse back riding, Churches, Shopping, Fine Dining, and more.
From Toronto:hwy 401 to Port Hope exit 464. North on #28 to Bailieboro. Turn east on county road #2 (Lakeview Rd.) for 22 km to McGregor Bay Road, and turn right, south to Rice Lake.

From Ottawa: #7 east to #34 on left. Turn left on #34, south 9 km to Keene. Turn right, west on county road #2, 1 km to McGregor Bay Road. Turn left, south to Rice Lake.

POLICIES

RESERVATIONS:Call 1-800-567-5607. Reservations can be confirmed immediately by credit card. Reservations without deposit will be held for only 10 days. A written notice will confirm your reservation. Rates are quoted in Canadian dollars and are subject to change without notice.
TAXES ARE EXTRA. 
DEPOSIT: A deposit of $500 is required for 1 and 2 bedroom cottages and $550 for 3 and 4 bedroom on WEEKLY bookings. For "GETAWAY PACKAGES" a 50% deposit is required. Balance is due on arrival by cash, debit card, or credit card only please (Visa, MAster Card, or Discover Card). No adjustments for late arrivals or early departures.
CANCELLATION: Deposit refundable less $75 administration fee if written notice received 45 days prior to reservation date.
